Georgia Cities Week April 22-28.
Ball Ground officials announced the City will be celebrating “Georgia Cities Week” April 22-28, 2012. The City will be holding a variety of events on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. The theme of this year’s Georgia Cities Week is “The Magic of Cities”, show casing how cities, through the services they provide and the quality of life they create, transform lives and businesses.
“We’re very proud of our City and the services we provide that make it attractive to residents and visitors,” said Mayor Rick Roberts. “Cities provide the infrastructure for growing businesses, quality of life for individuals and families and are a gathering spot for people throughout the regions.”
On Wednesday, April 25, 2012, beginning at 10:00 AM the fifth grade classes from Ball Ground Elementary School will visit City Hall to participate in a Mock City Council Meeting. Mayor Roberts and the City Council will talk with the students about the roll the Mayor and Council have in local government. The Ball Ground Police and Fire Departments will also be on hand to discuss public safety with the kids and city residents who stop by.
A display of old photos from days gone by of the City of Ball Ground will be displayed throughout City Hall.
In conjunction with this event, The Ellijay Telephone Company will host their Annual Customer Appreciation Bar-B-Q lunch on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM in the City Hall Parking Lot.
City Residents are invited to drop by for lunch and to learn more about the place where they live, work and play!
