125th Quasquicentennial Celebration

Mayor Rick Roberts, City Council and Staff invite you to
join us as we celebrate our 125th Anniversary
on Saturday, September 27, 2008
Festivities will begin at 11:00 AM with the Dedication of
our new City Hall, followed by the Unveiling of the “Wall of Mayors’
and presentation of the Commemorative Quilt made by the Ball Ground Quilters Guild.
Entertainment will be provided by the Cherokee Chorale.  A Photo Exhibit of our past and present will be on display inside City Hall for your enjoyment. 
The Tater Patch Players will perform for your pleasure “Yesterday in the Hills” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at the Community Center.  This play will give you a colorful look into our past!  We hope you enjoy.

A PHOTOGRAPH EXHIBIT

CELEBRATING BALL GROUND’S 125th YEAR

What does your Ball Ground look like? From early beginnings as a railroad town to present day, Ball Ground, Georgia certainly has a lot to celebrate! Join “My Ball Ground”, a photography exhibit to honor Ball Ground’s 125th year.

Submissions are being accepted for an exhibit at the planned dedication of Ball Ground’s new City Hall on Saturday, September 27, 2008.

Pictures must be 5″X7″ or 8″x10″ and delivered to City Hall by September 5, 2008. Please include name and contact information on the back of the photo. Pictures will become property of the City of Ball Ground. Following the exhibit, photos will be preserved in an album for display at City Hall. Photos may be old or new. (The City reserves the right to choose which photos will be displayed.)

ANNIVERSARY BELL

In order to commemorate the 125th anniversary of its founding, the city of Ball Ground has installed a bell in the City Hall bell tower. The bronze bell, nearly two feet in diameter, was made by John Eachus and Associates and cast by the Royal Dutch Bell Foundry in Holland. The bell will be dedicated during a ceremony at City Hall on Saturday, September 27, 2008  at 11:00 AM.   Please join us for this special event.
