The Cityof Ball Ground Streetscapes Project is slowly winding down.  Crews have begun punchout work while waiting on the last shipment of materials needed to finish the plaza area at the four way stop at the top of town.  The project is being audited now to confirm the amount of grant dollars till available.  Following the audit process the City will issue the final change orders to expand the project.  Items that may still be funded would be signage, benches, trash receptacles and bicycle racks or landscaping.  There will not be enough dollars available to accomplish both, but hopefully one or the other.  Delivery of the final materials is anticipated on September 17th, 2009.

Finally under way!!  Prince Ventures, LLC of Douglasville, Georgia has begun work on the City of Ball Ground Streetscapes project.  Construction has begun in the vicinity of Northridge Road adjacent to Lions Field.  From this point the project will move west towards Old Canton Road.

A very valuable, yet unseen, portion of this project will be installation of a new storm water drainage system that will help divert water away from the storefronts, many of which have doorways that are lower than the center of the roadway.

We should see our first brick pavers being installed over the new storm drain system by March 2009.

The project should be completed by mid July 2009.
