Hello Ball Ground:
First just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our residents that decided to shop small this past weekend. Our downtown was packed both Friday and Saturday. Actually, it was very busy all week. So again we thank all of you for supporting City of Ball Ground Merchants!!!
Hard to believe it’s this time again – but Friday evening will be the annual “March of the Toys for Toys for Tots Parade”. The parade will begin at 7:00 pm. We will be closing the side streets to protect the parade route beginning at 6:20. Our parade has grown so much that we don’t have a single staging area capable of handling all the participants. This is a great problem – but does also impact the number of closed streets as we use two staging areas. All vehicles and floats will stage at Ball Ground STEM Academy on Valley Street. All walkers, COSPlayers etc., dancers, bands etc., will stage at the old Ball Ground Elementary School on Old Canton Road. If you are a parade participant you need to be at your respective location no later than 6:00 pm
Road Closures are as follows:
Old Dawsonville Road will be closed at Calvin Farmer Park and also at Gilmer Ferry Road.
Old Canton will be closed at Commerce Lane
All Streets leading into Old Canton Road will be closed AT Old Canton Road
Valley Street will be closed at Coy M. Holcomb – at Depot Street – and at Gilmer Ferry
The detour route around Ball Ground for vehicles coming in from the Freehome direction will be Cherokee Village Drive to Northridge Road. South on Northridge to Ball Ground Highway (this will be near Magbee Lumber just south of town). In the reverse direction if you are at the traffic light near Regions Bank you will continue south to Northridge Road (Near Magbee Lumber) then follow the previously described route in reverse. Detour signs will be in place.
Again – please come out and join us for a great evening in Ball Ground – and don’t forget, Santa will be on the Stage in City Park immediately following the parade.
