The children’s playground at Calvin Farmer Park will undergo a makeover this winter. The City has contracted with “SafePlay” out of Canton to remove the existing mulch, replace the failed drainage system under the existing play area, and replace the wooden mulch with a much-upgraded rubber mulch. At the same time, they will pressure wash, revitalize the equipment coloring, and replace the worn seats on the swing sets. Work should begin on or about November 13th and will take approximately 10 days to complete. During our next budget cycle, which begins on July 1st, 2024, the Parks and Recreation Committee has requested funding to provide a large shade sail over the climbing and play structure on the northern end of the playground and we will be doing our best to make that happen. We apologize for any inconvenience but look forward to a much-needed makeover of the playground.
