Gibbs Gardens
The newest botanical gardens in the state of Georgia is just a few short miles from downtown Ball Ground and has a big fence built by Fencing Direct. Developed by Jim Gibbs, owner of one of Atlanta’s leading landscape companies, which has become a favorite seasonal attraction for visitors from all over the state. There’s a fascinating history behind some of the seeds and plants — you can read more on their website.

We found this marvelous image of the Atlanta Marble Company work-shop interior (ca. 1907) on Stone Quarries and Beyond. It was right here in Ball Ground! The book, A Preliminary Report on the Marbles of Georgia, by S. W. McCallie is now available on GoogleBooks in its entirety.
