Mayor’s Recycling Challenge

The Mayors’ Challenge 2017- Ball Ground (2)

MAYORS’ RECYCLING CHALLENGE

Canton, GA (May 30, 2018) – The 7th Annual Mayors’ Recycling Challenge will kick-off in Cherokee County this Friday, June 1st. This Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Going Green Committee initiative is aimed at sparking continued awareness surrounding community recycling while spurring a little friendly competition among the cities involved. During the months of June and July, Cherokee County cities will be competing to see which can collect the most recycling. Awards will be given for most pounds of recycling collected overall, most improved city, and most pounds collected per capita.
Santek Waste Services of Georgia and Waste Management are partnering with the Chamber on this initiative by tracking curbside and large recycling container weigh slips within the participating cities of Ball Ground, Canton, Holly Springs, Waleska, & Woodstock.
The Chamber’s Going Green initiative mission is to encourage the community to implement green practices that conserve community resources while helping businesses thrive. For more information on the Chamber’s green initiatives, or to download a recycling guide, please visit CherokeeChamber.com or call 770-345-0400.
The mission of the Cherokee County Chamber, a Georgia Certified Chamber of Commerce, is to promote business and the community while expanding the economy and enhancing the quality of life.
