Mayor Roberts and the Ball Ground City Council have tentatively set the property tax millage rate at 4.633 mills, down from the millage rate of 5.0 applied last year. This rate is the “revenue neutral” rate, which has rolled back the rate to offset the average increase in property values from inflation. Mayor and Council are set to formally adopt the official rate of 4.633 at their meeting on July 15th.
Our Annual Concert and Fireworks Show will be this Saturday, downtown. The concert will begin at 7:30 PM and will be “Fire and the Knife” performing great Southern Rock. The fireworks will be touched off promptly at 9:45 pm. Vendors will be set up in City Park by 5:30, so come on out and enjoy an evening in Beautiful Downtown Ball Ground.
The Ball Ground Farmer’s and Maker’s Market will be in City Park this Saturday, June 26th from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Come on out and support our local farmers and makers!

Our Farmer’s Market is off to a great start, thanks to great vendors and wonderful community support. The Market is located in City Park at the corner of Gilmer Ferry Road and Old Dawsonville Road. The market takes place every other Saturday from 8 am to 12 noon, so it will be running again on Saturday, June 26th.
The regular June meeting of the Mayor and Council will take place on Thursday, June 17th, rather than June 10th. Council meetings have returned to in-person meetings and as always are open to the public. We hope to see you on Thursday evening, June 17th at 7:00 PM. Prior to the regular meeting, the City Council will hold a work session beginning at 5:30 PM.
