Downtown Traffic Study

Good Afternoon Ball Ground:

You may have noticed today a number of intersections in the downtown corridor being equipped with cameras and several streets with cross cables. These tools are being installed on 4 streets and 20 intersections in the downtown corridor as part of a comprehensive traffic study to help our planners gather data on vehicle counts, traffic patterns, turn data and identify peak travel times at various areas. The data will also assist us in promoting the installation of a 4-way stop intersection at Old Dawsonville Road and Gilmer Ferry Road (SR 372), as well as a crosswalk and hopeful speed limit reduction at Lantern Walk Drive and SR Bus 5.

Once collected this data will help our traffic engineers in planning for and prioritizing transportation improvements.

The data collection period will last for approximately 2 weeks as devices are moved from place to place throughout the downtown corridor.

Take good care Ball Ground.

Eric
